This week the kids from ICS worked on making their two tiered mini cakes! Such beautiful work, it’s such a shame that it has to be eaten, good thing we got photos of it! Here are a few examples of their incredible work:
ICS is back doing Creative Treats for a second year and we’re so excited to have them back! We started off by making snowman, even though our snow is quickly disappearing. This is an easy baking activity and great to do with the kids!
1 cup of Butter
1/4 cup of icing sugar
2 cups of flour
2 cups of coconut
Handful of chocolate chips
Candy Corn or orange gummies
Coloured Fondant for Scarves/Hats
Royal Icing Sugar (4 cups of icing sugar, 3 tbsp of meringue powder and 7-8 tsp of water)
1. Preheat Oven 350
2. Cream butter and icing sugar together using an electric mixer. Add, flour and then stir in coconut.
3. Roll dough into various size balls and bake in the oven for 15-20 minutes.
4. Once the balls have cooled down use the royal icing to “glue” them together and then insert a toothpick through all 3 to make sure they are secure. Use the royal icing to “glue” on the nose, eyes and accessories.
